EPDP

EPDP – Experienced Principals Development Programme – Otago

What is it?

EPDP is a programme designed for the ongoing professional development and support of experienced primary or secondary principals. It will build on the basic principles of:

  • Leading self learning
  • Leading the learning of others
  • Leading the learning of the organisation

Don McLeod - EPDP Facilitator

How will it work?

Over the next eighteen months, a blended approach will provide each participant with the opportunity and the tools to gain evidence-based data about their school situation. Outside facilitation will then enable them to analyse and reflect on that data, and to devise strategies for improvement.
Processes will blend a range of online tools, webinars, audio and video conferencing, the development of websites, face-to-face and group activities, quality data gathering and facilitated reflection. An online community of practice will be developed over the life of the project.

Who is involved?

CORE Education Ltd is the Ministry contracted provider to deliver this programme to a selected group of Otago principals. The project facilitator is Don McLeod, a secondary principal of many years’ standing, backed by the expertise and technical knowledge of the CORE group.
